Kader is Turkish for fate. This route is not left to it: an A* search over Ankara’s real elevation plans it slope by slope, toward your pointer.toward wherever you tap.toward wherever you click.

Behind this page: Ankara's terrain drawn as contour lines from SRTM elevation data. A route planner draws a path from Kızılay to the place you point at, weighing every slope on the way.

The day job: maps for defense systems

I joined HAVELSAN in 2019 as an intern and have been a software engineer there since December 2020. I work on desktop GIS in Java and OpenGL and on web maps in React and CesiumJS: route planning with A* and slope analysis, elevation tools, tactical graphics and NATO symbology.

I can’t show that code. The route behind this page is how I show the craft instead.
